Our centre performs around 900 endoscopic surgeries every year, which qualifies our institution to be one of the high volume gynaecological endoscopic surgery unit in the world. It is a known fact that high volume centres have the least complications with the best surgical outcome.
We performed the first Laparoscopic salpingectomy for Ectopic Pregnancy in Kerala in 1986. By 1992, the first laparoscopic myomectomy in Kerala was performed by our team. Later in 1992, we performed the first Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Kerala.
We had the privilege to perform the first laparoscopic microtubal anastomosis in India in 1996. Later in 2015 we modified the same procedure using "barbed sutures" and this novel technique was published for the first time in international literature.
Because of our pioneering efforts in this field, doctors from India and overseas, refer a lot of difficult and complicated surgical conditions to our centre.
