Dr. P.G. Paul graduated from Trivandrum Medical College in 1978 and completed his post graduation in Gynaecology at SSG Medical College, Baroda, in 1983. He began his practice at Government General Hospital Ernakulam in 1984, where he performed over 10,000 laparoscopic sterilisations and established Kerala’s first Laparoscopy training program. Currently, Dr. Paul is the Director of the Cochin Gynaecological Endoscopic Training Centre. Dr. Paul has trained over 1,600 doctors worldwide in laparoscopic gynaecological surgery and has contributed significantly to popularising minimal access surgery in Asia.

He graduated MBBS from Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Kerala and completed MS(OBG) from Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry. He is also a holder of ESGE Bachelor in Endoscopy from Leuven, Belgium. Has also underwent advanced training in Endometriosis from Bordeaux , France. Since joining Paul's Hospital in 2017, he has performed more than 1600 endoscopic surgeries. He is also the Scientific Co-ordinator for Cochin Gynaecological Endoscopic Training Centre. He has undergone basic training in Aesthetic Gynecology as well and also deals with sexual disorders.

Personalised Care
Under the direct supervision of Dr Paul, the patient is not rallied from doctor to doctor. The entire team works together to put each patient at ease, gathering complete patient history, examination and ultrasonography on her first visit itself, giving the much-needed assurance of personalised care.
Successful Laparoscopic Surgery
At Paul’s hospital, laparoscopic surgery is offered as a more efficient alternative to open surgeries. Almost all gynaecological surgeries are performed by laparoscopy. We take pride in being a referral centre for endoscopy, wherein we have patients referred by doctors from all over the world to undergo laparoscopic surgeries where previous open surgeries have failed.
Patients always have a fear of complications of surgeries. Our centre is known for the lowest complication rate. This achievement has been attained by our careful & thorough approach to surgery, and of course, our long years of experience of the team.

We were the first centre to install OR1 (Karl Storz, Germany) integrated operation theatre in India and the first centre to install 3D endoscopic camera in Kerala. Lowest Open surgery Conversion
Most centres report an open surgery conversion rate of10% whereas our conversion rate is 1 in 500 surgeries (< 1%). This is a conversion rate far below the internationally quoted.
Infertility Treatment
When Dr. Paul started his practice in 1984, there were only a few male gynaecologists and infertility specialists in Kerala. Since then, he has treated more than 10,000 infertile couples. Paul’s Hospital provides one-stop diagnosis and treatment for male and female infertility. Our experienced team includes proficient infertility specialists, andrologists, embryologists, and counselors. The entire team works closely together to create a patient-friendly environment, allowing our doctors to provide the best care possible. Our goal is to provide outstanding patient care by focusing on each individual patient or couple when determining evaluation and treatment plans.
